With our contributors, we prioritize accuracy, experience, and heart. We don’t necessarily seek out the most seasoned writer, or only writers by trade; but we seek the most qualified individual with the most unique, thoughtful perspective for their respective topics. We hope to provide a platform to share the experience and expertise of those who may not have other natural outlets.
Our first collection in particular was a product of creative enthusiasm, and a willingness of everyone involved to say, “sure,” or “sounds fun,” or some variation or combination of those things. We are grateful for (and excited about!) anyone who resonates with what we’re doing, but we’re especially grateful for those who allowed us to be their creative outlet, and who donated their time and talents.

Anna Mitchael is a writer and the deputy editor of Magnolia Journal. She lives with her husband and three children in Waco, Texas, where she also answers to "Boots" as an advice columnist every month for the city magazine. In November she will be participating in the poetry marathon known as the 30/30 challenge by Tupelo Press.
